A STORY OF MY JOURNEY TO INDIA

A STORY OF MY JOURNEY TO INDIA
By. Nani Cahyani

My story is started on 2 January 2016 as I took a flight to Makassar and then I went to Jakarta, in Jakarta I stayed with Kak Nuni Nuchman, a friend who works as a casting director of one of the house production.  On 6 January 2016 I took a flight to from Jakarta to Singapore then transit in Mumbai and finally to Hyderabad. A long journey from BauBau to Singapore, Mumbai and Hyderabad was not making me to feel tired as I was not alone but 2 friends of my friends were with me.

Inauguration day with Prof. Meera Srinivas in EFLU, Hyderabad, India
The stewardess prepared some food that I just ate for the first time as I did not want to get jet lag then I had to make sure that I am full so it means I must eat a lot even though the food’s tasty different but I love to have this experience of eating Indian’s food. Let me tell you this journey of visiting countries like Singapore, Mumbai and then Hyderabad is the first experience for me.

I arrived in Singapore on 09.00 am and there was a funny thing happened as my friend opened the door for getting inside the room but it was not the time to open then security gave her a sign not to open the door until the service for the passengers was started. We also got confuse as in the flying ticket showed there was no gate number until I had initiative to ask the security man where is the gate number for us, he spoke in Singlish and said we have to go to the big screen and watched our gate’s number or just scan our barcode in our ticket and it will show automatically our gate number, mmmm one thing that I can suggest you who just visit a new country, you do not feel shy or worry to ask and always say excuse me when ask somebody to help you.

The trip from Singapore to Mumbai spent half and five hours, a long flight but I did really enjoy the view as I sat next by the window, in a flight the stewardess offered food, I can suggest to you that if you do a long trip/flight make sure you are full then you will not feel jet flag, perhaps my way is works to you perhaps not hehehe.

with some friends from different countries in Hyderabad, India
As I arrived in Mumbai everything looks new but the thing I will never forget in my life time when my friends and I were running just because we had to go to the domestic airport (Chhatrapati Shivaji terminal 18) which the terminal quite far from the international airport (Rajiv Gandhi) then we took a taxi if we did not do it probably we will miss the flight to Hyderabad, as we ran and went into taxi all remind me with “3 Idiots”, the Indian Movie that I watched many times. I never imagined before the story of that movie I experienced with two of my friends (Dinna Dayana La Ode Malim from Dayanu Ikhsanuddin University, Buton and Adiesty Septhiany from Tadulako University, Palu) as we ran just from one room to another room with our heavy luggage. After one hour journey from Mumbai to Hyderabad then the flight Jet Airways flight number 9W459 landing safely in Rajiv Gandhi Airport. In airport we met some participants from Thailand, Madagaskar, Eithopia and the university bus took us to the English Foreign Language University, along the way I took my camera and did recording. Finally, I was talking to myself… “I am here in the country of Shah Rukh Khan, my favourite actor from India”J. There were many things I saw a long the way to the EFL, people, buildings, roads and many others things, they open my eyes to see another part of the world and have this excellent experience with all selected people from many different countries. Honestly, International Training Program that I followed making me to respect each other’s cultures and to accept differences as the unique things to learn. Thank you so much for India government who make all things possible to happen to me to gain my knowledge and to see your beautiful country.

10 January 2016, a beautiful morning in Hyderabad, India
